# 🔒 SECURITY FIXES IMPLEMENTED

## ✅ Fixes Applied (5 November 2025)

### 1. Rate Limiting ✅
**File:** `routes/web.php`
- Added throttle middleware to contact form: `5 submissions per minute`
- Prevents spam and DDoS attacks

### 2. File Upload Security ✅
**File:** `app/Http/Controllers/Admin/SettingController.php`
- Removed SVG support (XSS risk)
- Added dimensions validation: max 2000x2000px
- Kept only safe formats: jpeg, png, jpg, gif

### 3. Input Validation & Sanitization ✅
**File:** `app/Http/Controllers/ContactController.php`
**Improvements:**
- Name: Only letters and spaces (regex validation)
- Email: RFC and DNS validation
- Phone: Only numbers and phone symbols
- Message: Min 10 characters, max 2000
- Strip HTML tags from name and message
- Custom error messages in Indonesian

### 4. Security Headers ✅
**File:** `app/Http/Middleware/SecurityHeaders.php`
**Headers Added:**
- `X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN` - Prevents clickjacking
- `X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff` - Prevents MIME sniffing
- `X-XSS-Protection: 1; mode=block` - XSS protection
- `Referrer-Policy: no-referrer-when-downgrade` - Privacy
- `Content-Security-Policy` - Controls resource loading
- `Strict-Transport-Security` - HTTPS only (production)

### 5. Stronger Password Policy ✅
**File:** `app/Http/Controllers/Admin/UserController.php`
**Requirements:**
- Minimum 12 characters (was 8)
- Must contain letters
- Must contain mixed case
- Must contain numbers
- Must contain symbols
- Check against compromised passwords database

---

## 🔐 SECURITY CHECKLIST

### Before Production Deployment:

- [ ] Set `APP_DEBUG=false` in `.env`
- [ ] Set `APP_ENV=production` in `.env`
- [ ] Change all default passwords
- [ ] Enable HTTPS/SSL certificate
- [ ] Configure firewall rules
- [ ] Setup fail2ban for SSH
- [ ] Enable automated backups
- [ ] Setup monitoring and alerts
- [ ] Review all file permissions
- [ ] Disable directory listing in Apache/Nginx
- [ ] Remove .git folder from public webroot
- [ ] Setup WAF (Web Application Firewall)

---

## 📊 Testing Commands

### Test Rate Limiting:
```bash
# Should be blocked after 5 requests
for i in {1..10}; do
  curl -X POST http://localhost:8000/contact \
    -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
    -d '{"name":"Test","email":"test@test.com","phone":"123","message":"Test message here"}'
done
```

### Test Input Validation:
```bash
# Should fail - invalid name
curl -X POST http://localhost:8000/contact \
  -d "name=<script>alert(1)</script>&email=test@test.com&phone=123&message=Test"
# Should fail - invalid email
curl -X POST http://localhost:8000/contact \
  -d "name=John&email=notanemail&phone=123&message=Test"
```

### Test Security Headers:
```bash
curl -I http://localhost:8000
# Check for X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, etc.
```

### Test Password Policy:
Try creating user with weak password:
- `password123` - Should fail (no symbols, no uppercase)
- `Password123` - Should fail (no symbols)
- `Password123!` - Should pass ✅

### Medium Priority:
5. **IP Whitelist** - Restrict admin access by IP
6. **Database Encryption** - Encrypt sensitive data
7. **Regular Updates** - Setup automated dependency updates
8. **Security Monitoring** - Implement SIEM/logging

### Low Priority:
9. **CAPTCHA** - Add Google reCAPTCHA to contact form
10. **Email Verification** - Verify admin emails

---

## 📝 Security Maintenance

### Weekly:
- Review access logs
- Check for failed login attempts
- Update dependencies if security patches available

### Monthly:
- Full security audit
- Review user permissions
- Test backup restoration
- Update SSL certificates (if needed)

### Quarterly:
- Penetration testing
- Code security review
- Update security documentation
- Security training for team
